Free, and funded by the people who use it
Running Roamkeep on your family's own server is free, with every feature, and always will be. There are no ads, and we never sell your data. We never even see it. If it's useful to your family and you'd like to help keep it going, this is what it takes to run and where the money goes.
What it takes to run
Each family's database runs on its own free Supabase account, so most of the cost of Roamkeep is already on your side, at no charge. This is what's left.

What donations pay for
- Keeping the relay running, and protected. It is the one piece every family shares. As more families join it has to scale, and it has to keep out abuse and floods of traffic. If it stopped, alerts would only appear when someone opened the app.
- An independent security audit of the whole app, published in full.
- Future platforms. Building for iPhone needs a Mac and Apple test devices, which have to be bought before any of that work can start.
- Development time, for fixes and for what families ask for.
What they don't do
A donation doesn't unlock anything, because nothing is locked. There are no perks and no priority support. Roamkeep is not a charity, so donations aren't tax-deductible.
How to help
Once, or monthly. A regular amount, however small, is what keeps the relay paid for.
Not able to give? Telling another family about Roamkeep, or reporting a bug well, helps just as much.
